Have questions?

We've got answers.

  • What is Fear Free?
As a Fear Free Certified Pet Sitter and an R+ dog trainer, that means I use extra care to make sure that I do not cause any fear, stress, or anxiety to your pets. We take the time necessary to be sure your pets are comfortable with us and do not push them past their limits or boundaries. This also means we do not use any aversive equipment such as prong collars, e-collars, spray bottles, Invisible Fences, and the like. We want your pets to feel safe with us at all times.
  • Do you use aversive methods or discipline dogs?
Nope, nope, and nope! We do not recommend or promote the use of any aversive whether that is in the form of a prong collar or a spray bottle. We also do not discipline dogs, rather we embrace their unique dogginess and realize they are not perfect, and we simply strive to create a better learning environment for them to make proper choices.
  • Are there any breeds or ages you don't work with?
We are Equal Opportunity Doggists! All breeds and ages of dogs are welcome. We do not, however, stay in-home with dogs who have aggression toward humans.
  • What states do you provide services in?
I travel throughout IL, the Midwest, and most of the lower 48 states. Some areas are not covered, please contact us with your location to verify service. Travel to your area may also be weather-dependent so please take that into consideration.
  • What can I expect from your services?
A typical day includes the general care of your pets such as feeding, playtime, snuggles, and the like. We work out what enrichment would suit your dogs the best and provide that for them and also provide a tailored training program specific to your dogs and household. We also take care of your home in general by cleaning up after ourselves, bringing in the mail, watering plants, and so on.
  • How many hours in a day are you here for the Live-In service?
Pretty much 24/7! I do not leave dogs home alone for more than 4 hours/day maximum. In some cases, such as dogs with isolation anxiety, I never leave at all. I only serve one household at a time so that your pets are ALWAYS my priority.
  • What will my dog learn?
This is completely dependent on what you and your dog need. We are not a general obedience trainer (ex., sit, down, stay, although these do come in play) but rather we teach concepts such as boundaries, calmness, and confidence.
  • Do you do board-and-trains?
We do not take dogs to train in-house. Rather, we come to you and help you train your dog in the envrionment they need to live in.
  • Do you provide any references?
We do not provide direct references to protect the privacy of our clients, rather testimonials are scattered throughout the website.
  • What is Time To Pet?
Time To Pet is a software program we utilized to keep track of client and pet information and all scheduling, invoicing, payment processing, etc. We require all clients to set up their own profile in TTP before beginning service for the ease of all parties. All communication between clients and myself go through the TTP system. You can ask questions, send messages, and receive daily "report cards" on your pets.
  • How often will I receive updates on my pets?
You will receive one update per day through Time To Pet's Daily Report Card feature.
